Cedar AIDS Support System - (CASS)
The Cedar AIDS Support System provides medical case management and care from diagnosis through bereavement for persons living with HIV/AIDS, their significant others, families, and friends. CASS staff and trained volunteers provide non-medical support and care to help clients live as fully and comfortably as possible. CASS services are confidential and free of charge.

Information and Referral
CASS has access to all types of HIV/AIDS information and resources that are available free of charge. CASS also works with local health care providers and community service organizations. Staff assist clients and their caregivers with finding emotional and medical care, and increase the quality and consistency of financial and support services. Anyone can call CASS for information or to make a referral.

Case Management
CASS staff helps clients identify their physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs and gets to know them on a one-to-one basis. The case manager makes referrals to agencies concerning individual needs and will maintain regular contact with the client.

Financial Assistance
In times of crisis or emergency, CASS clients can apply for financial assistance through the Ryan White CARE Act and the CASS Emergency Fund. Financial assistance can help with dental care, drug reimbursement, housing assistance, medical care and transportation to and from medical appointments.

Community Services
CASS provides support, substance abuse outreach, and "face-to-face" education to the community. By working with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations, CASS provides support, education, and assistance to people infected and affected with HIV/AIDS and related issues. "Face-to-face" education is provided by a panel consisting of persons with HIV/AIDS and their friends, survivors, significant others, and buddies. Together, they increase awareness and understanding of the psychosocial issues related to HIV/AIDS.
